Simi’s journey into music started pretty young as a chorister in church, with a brief career as a gospel singer, releasing her debut studio album in 2008, titled Ogaju. In 2014, Simi signed with X3M Music. She released “Tiff”, which gained much prominence and was nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2015.
Simi released her second and award-winning studio album Simisola on 8 September 2017. Her third studio album Omo Charlie Champagne, Vol. 1 was released to coincide with her thirty-first birthday on 19 April 2019.
She left X3M Music in February 2019 to launch her own record label, Studio Brat, in June 2019. Restless II followed in 2020 and To Be Honest in 2022.
Her fifth studio album, Lost and Found, arrived on 5 July 2024 with Lojay, Ladipoe, Bella Shmurda, Aṣa, Falz, Tiwa Savage and Ebenezer Obey on it. In 2026 she reunited with Chike on “Where You Dey”, five years after “Running (To You)”.
